The aims of our endocrine oncology lab are twofold: to improve the pre-operative diagnosis of endocrine tumors and identify novel therapeutic targets for endocrine cancers. We use a translational approach to understand endocrine pathology. We focus on: thyroid tumors, neuroendocrine tumors of the stomach, pancreas and gastrointestinal tract, adrenal tumors, and parathyroid tumors. Our lab is located in the Weill Cornell Medical College, and we collaborate with several other groups at the institution and worldwide. We have accrued a vast collection of endocrine tumors and cell lines, and we maintain an extensive database that permits correlative studies of molecular markers and clinical parameters. We are part of the Department of Surgery at Weill Cornell, and multiple surgical residents complete research fellowships in the endocrine oncology lab.
